2017. 3. 1. 개원한 서울회생법원은 도산전문법원으로서의 역량을 한층 더 높이고 도산제도의 비약적 발전을 모색하기 위하여 국제컨퍼런스를 개최합니다.

현대의 경제사회에서 도산하는 기업과 개인이 생기는 것은 피할 수 없는 현상이므로, 이에 대하여 효율적이고 합리적으로 대처하는 것은 경제와 사회의 안정과 발전에 매우 중요한 과제입니다.

이번 국제컨퍼런스는 미국, 영국, 네덜란드, 호주, 일본, 중국, 한국 등의 법관 및 전문가들이 함께 모여 도산제도의 현재 모습을 살펴보고 향후 발전방안을 모색하는 자리입니다. 서울회생법원은 그 실질적 결실을 얻을 수 있도록 개인도산제도에 관한 혁신적 접근, 하이브리드 구조조정과 P-Plan 회생절차, 중소기업 구조조정을 위한 창의적 방법, 비영리법인의 도산, 국제도산의 중요쟁점 등의 주제에 관하여 주요 국가의 실무와 각국 최고전문가의 고견을 사전 질의를 통해 수집하고 자료를 준비하는 등 수준 높은 논의의 장을 마련하기 위하여 많은 노력을 기울였습니다.

이번 컨퍼런스를 통하여 각국의 도산절차에 대한 이해가 깊어지고, 법관을 포함한 국내 및 세계 도산전문가 사이의 협력과 네트워크가 강화될 것으로 기대하며, 여러분들의 많은 참여를 기다립니다.

The Seoul Bankruptcy Court, founded on March 1, 2017, specializes in adjudicating insolvency cases. In an effort to enhance the Court’s judicial expertise and make extraordinary advancements in insolvency laws, we host a judicial conference on insolvency internationally.

In the modern economy, it is inevitable that companies and individuals occasionally become insolvent. Hence, it is important to have practical and efficient measures in place so that the economy and the society can continue to develop in a stable environment.

The upcoming Judicial Conference will invite pre-eminent legal experts including judges, lawyers and legal experts from the U.S., U.K., Netherlands, Australia, Japan, China and Korea to review the current state of insolvency laws, and to seek future improvements. To achieve the goals, the Seoul Bankruptcy Court prepared a wide variety of topics: innovative approaches to individual bankruptcy; hybrid-type restructuring and P-Plan as a means to reorganize; creative means to seek restructuring of small, medium-sized businesses; and major topics relevant to insolvency of non-profit organizations and cross-border cases. For these topics, we made our best efforts to design questionnaires and collect distinguished opinions of the top legal experts from each country, through which we were able to assemble the advanced data quality ensuring discussions of the Judicial Conference.

I look forward to kindling a deeper understanding about bankruptcy laws and procedures in each country, and strengthening the network and cooperation among attorneys and the world’s legal experts. In addition, it is my sincere hope that this 2017 Judicial Conference on Insolvency, Seoul Bankruptcy Court is meaningful and will offer a new launch pad for all of you, who have taken time out of your busy schedule to attend this event.
